Pilgrimage Festival organizers hope to expand community engagement

Pilgrimage Festival organizers hope to expand community engagement

As it enters its fifth year, Pilgrimage Festival has hired Williamson County-based Alday Communications to serve as its local communications liaison, with the intention to increase the festival organization’s year-round engagement with the community.

“Pilgrimage Festival has become an iconic event for Franklin, drawing visitors – and attention – from across the country,” said Mike Alday, president of Alday Communications. in announcing the new arrangement. “They’ve made quite an impact here and we want to help them even further deepen their engagement as a true partner for the Franklin community.”

The festival will be held this year on Sept. 21 and 22.

Pilgrimage Festival was first held at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in 2015. The music and cultural festival attracts 25,000 fans each year and has featured performances by Justin Timberlake, Eddie Vedder, Kacey Musgraves, Jason Isbell and many others.

The 2018 festival was cut short due to storms and heavy rain, and festival organizers ended up giving refunds to affected patrons and helping restore the festival grounds.

Despite that, Pilgrimage Festival continues to give back to the community through donations to Friends of Franklin Parks, Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, Music Cares and Dark Horse Institute.

“As we enter year five, we want to reinforce our love and support of the Franklin area,” said Brandt Wood, Pilgrimage Festival co-founder. “Mike and his staff are deeply engrained in the community and will be a great resource as we create a presence for Pilgrimage throughout
the year.”

Mike Alday, the company’s principal, has been a resident of Franklin since 1990. Alday Communications was founded in 1994 in Franklin as a full-service public relations firm.
