Toshie Miyake, age 74 of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away Jan. 30, 2018.
She was born in Tokyo, Japan, to the late Masamichi and Mimiko Dazai. She was a violinist and a well-known violin teacher in the Green Hills area. Toshie was a member of Crossroads of the Nations Church and formerly attended Emanuel Baptist Church where she still volunteered.
She is survived by son, Harry (Candy) Miyake; daughters, Yuri Miyake and Izumi (Jonathan Ota) Miyake; brother, Masaaki (Mitsuko) Dazai; grandchildren, Courtney and Caroline Miyake and Zilin and Kino Ota, and beloved dog, Taro.
Celebration of Life will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, with visitation two hours prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Stephen Young officiating. Memorials may be made to Snooty Giggles, www.snootygiggles.com.
