STAFF REPORTS

At the start of a boisterous CMA Festival weekend downtown, the Metro Nashville Police Department quietly rolled out some new community patrol officers for Bellevue.

The department introduced five new officers, along with Sgt. Matt Stevenson, to the Bellevue area last week, MNPD announced through the Bellevue Harpeth Chamber’s Facebook page. They will be tasked with patrolling the community from noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays throughout the summer.

Officers will patrol the Bellevue area in both marked and unmarked cars, and on bicycles, according to Sgt. Stevenson.

“They want to be involved in the community. If there are any events happening in the area, these officers are happy to come by and meet people,” said Amy Napoli, chamber CEO.

Napoli encouraged anyone wanted to engage with the new community officers to email Stevenson at matthew.stevenson@nashville.gov.
