Automobile theft update: 41 cars stolen

A review of stolen vehicle reports in Nashville from Sunday, Feb. 5th, through Saturday Feb. 11, shows that 73% of the automobiles taken (30 of 41) were easy targets because the keys were left inside or made available to thieves. Eight of the 41 vehicles stolen were left running without the driver present.

The police department’s continuing PARK SMART campaign strongly urges citizens to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables and REMOVE THE KEYS, even if going into a home or business for just a minute or two.
