91 charged in Nashville during past week, mostly with drug offenses


METRO NASHVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

          Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s eight precincts charged 91 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

          Midtown Hills Precinct detectives charged 8 persons as the result of investigations on Nolensville Pike, Charlotte Avenue, and Edgehill Avenue. Detectives seized 88 grams of marijuana, ten grams of methamphetamine, one handgun, and $1,154 cash.

         South Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Lincoln Street, Lafayette Street, Wallace Road, and Linbar Drive.  Detectives seized 3.5 grams of cocaine, 5.3 grams of heroin, eleven grams of marijuana, two grams of MDMA, and two pills.

          Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Elliston Place, Elm Hill Pike, Donelson Pike, Rio Vista Drive, Murfreesboro Pike, Lafayette Street, Lewis Street, Atrium Way and Charles E. Davis Boulevard.  Detectives seized 13 grams of cocaine, one gram of heroin, and 40 pills.

           West Precinct detectives charged 8 persons as the result of investigations on Charlotte Pike, Vernon Avenue, Basswood Avenue, and Morrow Road.  Detectives seized 47.5 grams of marijuana, 1.2 grams of cocaine, and one prescription pill.

           North Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations on Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, and Buena Vista Pike.   Detectives seized 10.5 grams of cocaine, one gram of heroin, 80 pills, two guns, one vehicle, and $4,043 cash.

         Madison Precinct detectives charged 8 persons as the result of investigations on Kate Street, Cheyenne Boulevard, Creekwood Avenue, Milliken Drive, and Coreland Drive. Detectives seized 1.5 grams of heroin, five grams of marijuana, one gram of methamphetamine, six pills, and six guns.

        East Precinct detectives charged 9 persons as the result of investigations on Dickerson Pike, Trinity Lane, Gallatin Pike, and Joyce Lane.  Detectives seized one gram of marijuana, six grams of heroin, and one Opana pill.

         Central Precinct detectives charged 9 persons as the result of investigations on4th Avenue South, 5th Avenue South, Peabody Street, and Middleton Street. Detectives seized four grams of marijuana, four grams of cocaine, and one gram of methamphetamine.

       Citizens suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
